The turning or twisting of the spine along with the abdomen in any asana is called Parivrtta Kriya. Twists create mobility in the spine by giving lateral rotational movement, these poses are essential for everyone since they delay aging of the muscles of the spine and back. Twist poses are for the healthy spine.
You can expect a dynamic and active workshop where you will learn:
- the necessary actions and arrows of movement to perform the twists
- the concept of lateral extensions of the spine to give it freedom for rotation
- correct actions that can bring the body in alignment physically and energetically, through various clear demonstrations
There will be lots of explanation, individual alignment approach for each student and simple breath awareness at the end.
